The game, which demands both technical prowess and physical strength, is distinguished by its paramount requirement of mental fortitude. This game was introduced in India in the early 1970s. Soon, people began embracing it, initially for recreational purposes, but gradually it evolved into a professional pursuit. Now, the game has gained widespread adoption, with 28 states across India having embraced it, and the respective state associations dedicating concerted efforts towards its further development.
